help with my starfish

2 of my 4 starfish are living on top of each other. Should I be concerned that they may be near death? Or are they breeding? The tank is 6 weeks old, all levels checked normal a week ago and the star fish were purchased a week ago...They are moving around and burying themselves in the sand, these two just started this a few days ago. What could this be?

what type of starfish are they??? some Starfish are conivours and will eat each other this may or may not be whats happening.

These are sand sifters. They are now separating and then get on top of each other on occasion, they all seem healthy, there have been a few times where 3 of them were piled up.

For about the first month I had my sand sifting stars, I saw the same behavior. Never found out why they were doing this.
