Help with Octopus Skimmer

So I was finally able to setup my new Octopus DNW 110 recirculating skimmer and it doesn't seem like it's making enough foam for it to collect in the cup. It is barely even above the water level. Is this normal for a new skimmer? How long will it be until it starts collecting waste? thanks

Give it a while. It will skim. A vinegar bath before setting up can help out a new skimmer. Dial it in so that the water level is up into the tapered section, just below the neck a tad, then wait. I don't recommend having a new skimmer set up on a remote collection jar until it's properly dialed in also, as it may overflow.

I have a new DNW-200, been up and running for a month now. It foams! Not as much as I would like. But, I can say it did take about 2-3 weeks before it even started to really foam.
