Help with Pop-Eye

Hello, I am new to the board as well as the hobby. My tank is in the middle of cycling and someone suggested adding a couple of damsels to help the process. After about 2 days I noticed one of them had pop-eye. I took him out treated hime with Maracyn-two as instructed. Today will be the 6th day of treatment and his one eye looks better but I noticed that the ohter eye has swelling now too. I also noticed alot of small white bugs crawling around on the tank front and sides (inside). Please help.....what is going on

It may be a better idea to quarantine him and use copper. As for the little white bugs, they should be ok. Did you put live sand in your tank? If so they could have come in on your live sand.

I have been treating my hippo in a hospital tank with Melafix for his popeye. It's a 7 day treatment and his eye has definitely gone down. Even smells nice, made with tea tree oils.
Just a note though if you use it with protien skimmers the skimmer goes nuts! make sure you turn it off first!

My angel had pop-eye. I used Mela Fix. On the 4th day it was gone. Do not forget to turn of the Skimmer and UV(if u've got one).
