Help With Powerheads Please

I have a Red Sea wave maker that I hooked up to three Hagen 802 Powerheads. Well the powerheads have all failed. Are there any powerheads on the market that can take the starting and stoping of the wave maker?

I don't have any experience with the wave maker you mentioned, but I know maxijet's have always been reliable for me. I had a few penguin 1140's for a while, both failed and I pulled out a maxijet that i'd had for about a 100 some years and it worked (still is actually) great... so I bought a few more 1200's.... great product if you ask me.
Did all three fail at once? Perhaps something may be wrong electrically with your wavemaker? If they all failed at one time it seems kinda odd.
That prob wasn't much help... just stay away from powersweeps I hear those things are the devil incarnate.
Cheers!

No they did not all fail at once. The impellers have gone bad from all the starting and stoping. The fact is I did not get a year out of them and to replace the impellers will cost more than half of what new powerheads cost. Thats why I need a powerhead that will handle the starts and stops.

I have always had good luck with maxijets. I would advise the 900's vise the 1200's. The 900's use almost 2/3 less power and only produce 30 or 60 gallons less per hour. They also run cooler to. SO you could run more powerheads for less energy and heat and get more waterflow per hour.
2- 1200's means 595 GPH at 42 watts
3- 900's means 630 roughly GPH at 24 watts
