Help with Protein skimmer

I have a pro clear aquatics protein skimmer, it's been working perfectly. Had it turned off for a couple of days while I was using chem-clean to get rid of some red slime algae.
Turned it back on and even with the airflow wide open it's foaming like crazy. Is this because of the chem-clean or some other problem? Wondering if anyone else has had this problem. just cleaned the pump and skimmer also...Thanks.

I would say yes,anytime you add any additive to your tank it usually makes the skimmer foam some,after you do a water change it should stop foaming like your talking about.
