My Tomato Clown and Striped Damsel look "fuzzy" on one side of their bodies. The act ok and otherwise appear healthy as does everyone else in our tank. What is this and how do I take care of this?????

you have a fungus in your tank. go to the store and get PIMAFIX you can put this directly into your main tank because it is safe for inverts and live rock as well. it is an organic medication that will take care of your problem without disturbing your ecosystem. pimafix is made by the same company as melafix

The people at me LFS told me that anything I put in the tank will kill my corals and inverts. Is this correct??? I'm starting to see a few little white specks on my clown. Is this Ick?

it's probably ick. this pimafix they just came out with. it says right on the label that it's safe for all inverts corals being inverts themselves. you could always call up the company just to make sure.

Wait a minute here. There is no way from the description above that you can make this assessment.
Houndhome, can you give more details? How long has the tank been set up, what are it's parameters...what are the other tankmates...etc. Can you look at some pics online to determine exactly what the fish might have?{type in cryptocaryon irritans{ich}, and Oödinium pilularis{velvet disease}..these are the two most common parasites.

these are parasites yes but they aren't fuzzy. the only thing that is fuzzy is a fugus
