Help!

I just finished cycling my tank, and i needed a protien skimmer so I could get my fish/invertabrates. I took the spare one out of my closet. It was looking nasty so I cleaned it with bleach. I hooked it up to my tank. Will it kill my live rock? I rinsed it real good but I think I need a dechlorinator. What do you think? (Besides that I'm an idiot)

If you cleaned it well, there should be no problem, some people clean this product CALLED PURIGEN with bleach, then rinse it and place it back into the tank. BUT please please make sure you get all the bleach off, you might even want to soak it in a bucket of fresh water overnight as well.

I clean my dead coral which is my decor in my bath with water and 2 cups of bleach for a hour or untill clean. Then i wash each piece really good and the let them soak for 2 hrs. Then i take each piece again and wash them. I have been doing this for 4 years now and no loses yet. Knock on wood
. But be sure to soak and wash anything that was bleached really good.
Good luck

I think it should be alright, a skimmer is not as poures as a sponge or liverock, so if you rinsed it & Dryed it good, i don't think you'll have a problem..
