okay heres what came with my 55gal kit
-55gal black tank 48x13x20
-48" PINE STAND
-48 black recess fluor hood(does fluor mean fluorescent)?
-Whisper soft net 5inch long
-Digital thermometer-large
-aqua reminder
-penguin 350 power filter
-siphon kleen- large
-Neptune sub heater 200W
will this work for my saltwater setup??
im already buying a protein skimmer
this doesnt inculde rocks, fish, etc just hte basics to get it going???
please help!!!

More information would be needed to be able to recommend anything specific.
Is the going to be FOWLR or a reef tank? If fish only then the lights will be ok. If going for a reef then I have a feeling you do have a standard flourescent light and that would not be sufficient.
If going reef you will need more filtration and water flow. A couple of powerheads never hurts.
What kind of substrate were you thinking of going with? Live sand works pretty well.
And probably the most important thing is test kits. I didnt see those mentioned in your list. Highly recommend picking up one of the test kits that tests multiple things. Ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, PH and alkalinity.
A refractometer to test the water salinity is a good help as well.

im upgrading lights in may to a t-5 lighting structure, and im gonna use some dead sand and some live sand....

With an upgrate to T-5 lights I would assume then you are planning on having corals eventually. In this case you will definitely need more flow. I would go with either 2 MaxiJet 1200's or 2 Hydor Koralia 1's. Just put one on each of the tank and aim them at each other.
