starting my first reef tank first saltwater tank period i need help and advice on anything would be nice its a 30 gallon

Yeah ask away what you need help with??? First advice. Take it slow. 2nd advice don't buy on impulse. Always do research first before you buy a fish or coral. Once you have the sand and rocks in the water let it cycle for a few weeks.

Oh if you want to do it right the first time i would drill out the tank and run a sump/refugium. My last tank was a 29gal and i had so much stuff hanging on the back of the tank it was so horrible to look at all the equipment. Check out my shallow lps tank thread as i'm building my new tank it will help you out as i have lots of pics.
