I had a figure 8 for 4 years. They are very intolerate of copper AND formaldihide. He is losing his slime coat. Get him out of whatever you treated him with. One more thing, figure 8's are BRACKISH water fish. You are harming him simply by having him in freshwater. When they are fry they are in freshwater, but after a short cycle in freshwater, they migrate to brackish deltas.

I sent you a pm for the best puffer forum out there. A guy name Robert T Rickets is the "head" guy. He is a Phd in biology.

Are clown fish also intolerant of copper treatments? Cupramine? Is there a list of fish that can't handle this treatment method?
Slime coat is equivalent to what in people terms? This is all very new to me and I have been having a huge ich problem. This sounds like what happened to me with my clowns :-(
I only have my Humuhumu and damsels left. I don't know what to do and it is really frustrating.
