So I just got a 125 gallon AGA for christmas
and I was just wondering what to put in it. I'm ordering the aquactinics constellation lighting fixture tonight or tomorrow. So my real question is i really don't want an anemone in this tank, idk why, I just don't. But I want my clowns to be happy, so I'm thinking a hammer, frogspawn, or torch; I can't decide which one to get though. So what are you guys and gals opinions and suggestions on what to get. Which one will grow the fastest under say, perfect conditions, and the lighting will be more than enough I believe. Also I'd gladly accept suggestions for what to put in the tank in general. :D Thanks.

Clowns host if they want to, sometimes they don't. Mine hosted the output tubes of my canister filter.

Set up your tank and the fun is to shop for the coral. Be sure to research each one. Happy Reefing!

I would say any of these corals are fine, so it is a personnal preference.
I don't believe your clown's happiness are related.

I'd actually reccomend some type of hairy mushroom. Clownfish are very rough with corals they host and very well could kill a forgspawn, torch, or hammer coral. Some people have luck with their clowns hosting them nicely, but more often people lose their pretty coral. There's a type of mushroom that has a long stalk and has little tenticle things comming off the top of it, I just don't know what It's called. Hopefully someone else will chime in with the name, but they are much hardier and I see clowns in them at the LFS all the time. =)

Well my false clown inhabits a toadstool coral, but i have seen clownfish inhabit a seashell and etc.. really depends on what it prefers.
Tanks raised clowns tend to ween away from an anemonee because that really have no need since most never seen one. But during distrubustion to lfs that put clownfish with corals that they lern to love. So luck of the draw hope it helps.

I've had my clowns for almost a year now and they host my toadstool, my yumas, my open brain, and my anemone. Can they really damage the coral? I've seen them brushing on my yuma, but it seems to like it. I got these to as a pair from my LFS and they were in a BTA. I felt kinda bad taking them from their home, but they seem to be fat and happy.

Clownfish have been know to accidently kill smaller coral through smother them. By smother i mean they constantly rub against the coral or give it way too much food ultimately leading to its death, however i have never had this happen.
