help!

I don't know what's wrong. I think its my light. It's a current t5 and i run the day light and i hear a loud, violent popping noise. Any ideas? Please help.

Yikes! It it only happening when the light is on?
Did it get splashed with water?

Electricity is arcing (shorting). I would shut it off and find out what's causing it, otherwise It's a fire hazard right now and could just cause more damage. Open it up and check inside...you'll probably see something has smoked.

If you don't know what you're doing you should really get someone experienced who can help. I don't know how old you are but I wouldn't recommend tinkering with electronics to minors or especially without a moderately descent understanding of how they work. Safety First!

I have a helper...I'm really scared of what's wrong...ill try tomorrow or this weekend....got work right now. What's a light fixture you guys recommend for my 4' tank, if mine breaks?.!?

Can it be a heater? I am almost positive one of the cheap heaters that came with the tank was flashing.....if it is, is the best alternative to replace the heater?

Whatever is making the popping sound is what I'd replace. Things aren't supposed to pop. So I'd find it and go from there.
