I have a new 39 gallon tank..It's been up and running for 2 weeks now...The nitrites are still a little high, but is there anything such as shrimp, crabs, ect that I could add now...or should I continue to wait...can you tell I'm a bit anxious..

idk how long you have been in the hobby but your about to find out that its a long long hurry up and wait hobby lol...you really shouldn't be sticking any animals in until all your parameters are reading correctly...others will chime in eventually here also

Wait till ammonia, nitrites are zero. Nitrates will be high so you will need o do a large water change to bring them down. Then wait a couple more weeks while feeding the tank as if you had fish to make sure the parameters stay good.

Hi there, if you can pick up Prime by Seachem. It locks up ammonia and nitrite and prevents it from harming your fish. Use it at two drops per gallon per day, for every day that you either do not test your water or that your ammonia or nitrite read more than zero. You should be doing about 25 percent water changes once a week with a good vacume once you get your tank fully cycled, but while its still in influx I would do 25% every day, until your readings are all zero. Don't overclean your filter, just every two weeks rinse it in tank water and put it right back, give the positive microbes a good chance to set in. You can use a microbe boosting product too like Stability by Seachem when you do your filter clean. Good luck!
