Help!!

I have a dog face puffer been in my tanks for over a month and woke up this morning and there are white strings coming out of mouth and his mouth is open showing his teeth. 75gallon tank amm is 0 nitrate is under the limits almost zero. Salt is 1.26

The white strings you are seeing could be an indication of stress. How big is this fish? Is it being harassed at all by tank-mates? What is your nitrite level? pH? Temp?

If you can post up some clear pictures, that may be helpful.

Nitrate is 5.0ppm ph is 8.2 temp is about80 the trigger fish was messing with him I just quarantined him the thing that concerns me is he is showing his teeth all the time

I can't tell anything from the pictures due to quality. Where did you quarantine this fish? That doesn't look adequate for a quarantine containment.

I asked about nitrite, not nitrate. What is the nitrite level? I'd say confirmed stress due to trigger. Common stress reaction from puffer. Did the trigger bite him to him?

It may come down to deciding which fish you want the trigger or the puffer.
