Ok this is the story. I bought a tank raised clown 4 days ago and noticed it got ich the day b4 yesterday. I had a damsel in my tank about 1 1/2 months ago when i removed him and it never got ich and I had him in my tank for about 2 years. When I purchased my clown it was very healthy and didnt have ich. What could it be????
Could it be that he was stressed because he was the only fish in my tank and was lonely? Because when I purchased him, he was with a school of percs. What else could it be???? Also last fish I purchased (tomato clown) died of that slimy skin thing. And then a tang I purchased a while back died of ick. What is going on??!!! I am about to give up on fish and stick to my corals they never fail me. Please help!

The problem is that you are not quarantining your fish before introducing them to your main setup. Just about all fish will carry ich or some other parasite. If you quarantine first, and administer treatment in the isolation tank, you can greatly improve the likelyhood of having healthy fish and a healthy tank. Your success in the hobby will be greatly enhanced.
