I would probably consider it a nano. For a reef you need a couple of things. Really good lighting, water quality and corals.

I would recommend a protein skimmer some good PH's.

I consider it a nano.
I currently run an in tank sirstone skimmer.
30# LR
120# DSB
100w Heater
one Maxi-Jet 1200 PH
130w PC lighting.
Stocking
One False Percula
6 Line Wrasse
Watchman wheeler goby
5 hermits
12 turbo snails
2 fighting conch
Pistol Shrimp
Coral
Frogspawn (splitting very well)
Three colors of Zooanthids
Discmosa shroom
Unidentified shroom
Oh Lots of Bristle worms and pods as well.
Plan to add 20 more # LR for christmas.
Hang on Refugium by CPR
Small tanks are fun. You can Make them look awesome. I plan to add more coral as well. The onyl tricky thing is the water maintenance. With a smaller water column you dont have as much room for error.
