if a hermit crab doesnt have a big enough shell will it die? i ask because two of my hermits shells or complety empty is it possible i have hitchhiker?

yes they will die thats how they protect themselves so if there is no shell anything and everything can get to them. it is possible you have a hitchiker too thats killing them could be the other hermits aswell going after a larger home.
