Heniochus Butterfly sleeping habbits

I recently picked up a Heniochus Butterfly for my 55; im curious about the "sleeping" habits of these fish. I've had him for about a week and am concerned about his position in the tank when the lights are out. instead of going behind the rock, where i would expect, he tends to stay infront of it, and reacts as if its startled when i enter the room at night. I only worry becuase i fear it may stress the fish over a long period of time if it doesnt have a comfortable hiding spot. any feed back would be great.
edit* just wanted to note that it has ample room behidn the rock to stay and travels there frequently during the day

Butterflies do not really wedge themselves into rocks when they sleep. They will find an open area that is only accesible to similarly sized fish and stick to that area. In a fish tank, there is no threats, so it uses your tank or that section of the tank as that "open area".
