Hi, I have a 55 no live rock. All I have are a flame angel and 2 perc's. I was looking on this site and saw the Heniochus Butterfly. They recommend a school of 3. Do you think my tank will support these fish? Any help will be appreciated.

I've broken every rule in the book at one time or another, some with success, some without.
These fish like to swim over the reef in open water, a 55 gallon tank doesn't provide much open space. Over time I don't think that they well do very well in your tank.

No way would I put 3 of these in a 55. They get fairly large and tend to school. They wont have enough room in a 55 even if there were no other fish or rocks. I have 3 in my 300 gallon with 2 eels, a puffer, and a clown trigger. They are about 8" each, and very active swimmers. I wouldnt put a school of 3 in anything less than a 150.

My advice would be to get a much larger tank because these tend to grow very large in size and putting 3 together is such a small tank as yours would cause damage to the creatures...lol :cheer:
