I'm thinking of getting 2 Heniochus Butterflys. Any information you can give would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

wait for more info but do a search on this board for it on the top right hand corner of the page.also they should not be kept in aquariums because they are very hard to keep

I special ordered 2 from my lfs and when they came in they were about 10 inches from the top of there fin to the bottom. To keep 1 let alone 2 you would need a very large tank. They need room to stretch there long fins, and plenty of room to swim. They are butterflies so naturally they are picky eaters. i would not suggest putting them in a tank smaller then 75-100. Due to the fact that they get SO TALL. This is IMO because I have seen how big they get. I decided that my 46 was way to small. However I have never kept them.

Thanks for the reply. I saw them at my LFS this weekend on sale for $15.99 but resisted an impulse buy until I got more information. They are only 2-3 inches now but after doing a search on here, I'm glad I didn't buy them as they wouldn't survive more than a few months. I'm sooo glad I found this board.

That is what this board is for. they are very cool. i really wanted a pair. When I saw the ones that my lFS got for me I was like "whoa those can't go in my tank." Make that whenever you have a question you ask. That way you can save yourself from making mistakes. Ask questions that is one of the best ways to learn!!!
