here i am- stuck in the middle of hyposalinity

i'm having a horrible week, to say the least...
i won't go into too much despressing detail of how my 72g has come down with ick, baltimore got too hot a couple weeks ago, tank temp soared and one week later, signs of ick on my white face.
i know where its from, from my yellow tang, he's been there 1 1/2 years but never QTd. my bad :(
so i began hypo last friday nite, the fish had visable white spots, but not lots of scratching so i thought (hope) i had time to cure it that way.
i got the tank salinity down to 1.009 (i have a refractometer) by monday morn.
the tangs still show ick, all are still active and eating, but the white face started to hang out in the skimmer current 2 days ago (i know why)-
just wondering, how long conceivably before the last cycle of ick falls off of him while in hypo?
3 days? 4 days? i feel like it should be any day now.
and the bad news is i'm scheduled to leave for my big 4 day vacation tomorrow. this has already been postponed since last week, because i was 100% full time changing water and setting up the hypo conditions.
i can't postpone again, my husband's already there (leave the wife with the sick fish, lol)
just wondering, can i have any resolution that i am (the fish) are successfully battling the ick? i feel like its starting to wear thin, how long can my tang last? he's darn strong, but its hard on him...
any advice/insight from hypo experiencers???
i have friends coming this weekend to check in, but am feeling sooo nervous to leave my fish alone....
ugh.

thanks terryb,
i don't think the fishes don't like hypo- in fact they are all very active and eating like i mentioned, i just needed some affirmation about the length of the cysts on the fishes body. i figure he does have the cysts on his gills, hence the hanging out in the outflow, he had a freshwater dip last week, not much help. i am hesitant about using formalin, its toxicity, oxygen depletion etc...can you convince me i can do this OK?
i'm nervous about leaving and that this outbreak might harm him before it matures and falls off. he is by no means struggling at the bottom of the tank, so i hope within the week we should see some better results.
have been checking ph and buffers. ph is at 8.6- kent superbuffer has held it there very well.
wish me luck, thanks alot for the info-
i'll keep you posted.
i'm still sooo hesitant to leave them, i'm sure you understand...i've worked very hard to get to this point, and i feel like i only i can help them and if i'm gone......
oh, i'm in a bind-
anyway thanks for helping
