Well more of a question.
We dont hear much of our war in afghanistan anymore..
Apparenttly we are still fighting the Taliban and Al Qaeda there. Who would have thought?
So here is the question.
If a military person comes across a Taliban army member should they shoot on sight?

Only if they wanted to end up in Leavenworth. Unless fired upon the rules of engagement are much more complicated now especially for that region infiltrating civilian populations. Different rules for Spec Ops of course where one would never hear about it anyhow.

So it's cool to push a button and execute even an American citizen from above but a soldier who comes face to face with an armed Taliban on the ground he has to wait to be shot at before doing anything about it.
Isn't life grand LOL! My kid was stationed at a base in Afghanistan where they had to keep their weapon with them at all times but it couldn't be loaded. That makes about as much sense.

The bureaucracy created by those who havent a clue. McAurthur, Patton, Nimitz, Eisenhower all rejected this nonsense, thats why they were so effective.
