Asking a few questions about certain hand gun purchases in that part of the country doesn't sound like hassling to me...

It does seem kind of strange though in the case of the police officer that claimed his two assalt wepons that he had purchased the day before to be stolen from his car the day he bought them and never filed a police report and just so happened to travel to Mexico the next day... I guess there is no reason to be asking a few extra questions about gun purchases in person...

But he is a LEO, I am sure he just did not want to give another LEO more work..

If the reason is to ask questions, then yes I see no problem, but if it requires a ride downtown, then that is harassment.
