Here's a new one: twisted anenome...

I woke up this morning to my bta twisted around iself about 7 times (sorta like you would twist up a sandwitch bread bag before putting on the twist tie). The current must have twisted it around... I was able to untwist it, but it looked like there's a rip in the foot in the middle of it on the side. It bubbled up after being untied, but i'm wondering what may happen with the rip?

I once had a purple LTA, the had a tear in it's foot when I got it. Took me a while to realize that my cleaner shrimp where cleaning the wound (kinda looked they were picking at a scab) and not eating it. Then I realized the poor thing was splitting. So I was happy and everything would have been fine had not a rogue crab decided to make a meal out of it. My advise, leave it alone, keep feeding on regular intervals, but don't touch it, except maybe to move it along w/ the rock it's attached to to calmer waters; you wouldn't want it to re-twist. With a little luck, it'll be ok.

i don't think its splitting, i think its more like what would happen if it exploded outwards from twisting too tight around the food i gave it yesterday :( i'll see how it is when i get home.
When i went to bed it was stretched out probably around 7" from base to top, and i havent moved it for MONTHS so i dont know why all of a sudden it twisted from the current. I did put a rock with some zoos in the tank, i wonder if it caused a new current pattern.

maybe we just have a difference of sub-species here. Some like to twist and shout, others just get down and grove. :joy:
My LTA is the latter, but every once in a while it'll reach up to the sky (Like Jesus was the DJ himself, spinning those funky funky house beats ~ "Norman Cook") and stretch out. I think it's cool 'cause I get to see all the pokodots on the bottom of it when it does that.
