Couple of questions....
What is molting?
If I get a hermit (I like the one that is has red legs and a yellow face) do I need to have extra shells in the tank?

Yes you need extra shells. They will need them as they get bigger, also I have one hermit crab (Strawberry) that switches shells at least once a week. (She has to be a girl! LOL) You can get them from your LFS or I beleive you can order them on line.

Yes definetly buy shells for the hermits to grow into, or else risk the lives of your snails.
