Hermit crab switching shells!

Anyone here ever see them do this? I just saw it today for the first time ever and it looks cool!

awsome, mine almost did it this morning i think one of my scarlet hermits was checking out one of the spare shells i have and crawled onto it. but i guess it decided it didnt want to and crawled back over onto the rocks i was bummed

i've always wanted to see them do the switch, but i've never caught them in the act. i've always wondered why they die without their shell (besides from preditors).

My hermits seem to play musical shells in a group...it's fun to watch.
I remember when I added some green leg hermits to the tank there was a scuffle in the middle of the tank, green vs. red. It was crazy but almost everyone walked away with a new home!!

i've got a club member that has a hermit who's shell is home to a kenya tree frag...

as the crabs grow they need larger homes be sure to add empty shells they can move to as they grow
