ok so in my 44 gal pendagon i have a hermit that keeps on climbing ontop of some mushroom si have in my tank. everytime he climbs on they they shrink and "throw up" stringy white stuff... is this bad???? what should i do???

The stringy white stuff is the mushroom guts, they will push them out if really irritated, have yet to figure out why.
This is one of the problems with hermits. They crawl over everything. It probably isn't doing any harm to the mushrooms, just causing them stress, you can either remove the hermit, or accept the fact that it will continue to bother the shrooms.
