hermit crabs spending time together

One of my scarlet hermit crabs has been on top of the other one all day. Shell to shell. I feed pellets every day. Is one chomping on the other? Has anyone seen this before? They did this once before for a couple hours with them seperating and nothing happening. But now???

my hermit did that ...but seems to me all my hermits were chasing one. like fighting for that one hermit..i think they might be mating or something.cuz i seen some stuff being sprayed when they are attached..
