Hermit probslems

I stopped by the LFS and picked up about 20 scarlet hermits. at about 2 bucks a pop (ouch!) I put them in at about 6pm last night...lights were on for about 3 hours...then the night and I look at them today. Out of 20 of them only 3 have moved in about 24 hours. They are all peeking out of their shells andhide when I touch them, but just do not move.
Temp: 79.1 - 81.4 (fluxuates a little)
Salinity: 1.119 - 1.120 (I have been trying to raise this slowly)
Nitrites: .25 according to pharasuticals...and 0 according to LFS
ammonia: 0
nitrates: 0
Also I have 4 fighting conches that are just tearing it up and makeing fools of them selves by flipping over stuff. So I know the tank is not pen point perfection but would this little bit on fluxuation effect hermits that bad?
Thank you for any ideas

How did you acclimate them?Salinity is a bit low.Sometimes scarlet hermits don't move around much until dark..check after lights out tonight..they will probably be out and about.

As far as acclamting them I was told to just float for about 20 mins and drop them in. even if that is the case would that effect them 24 hours later?
thanx

Ouch..definately.Say they came from a system that had a salinity of 1.024..or higher. Then you just dropped them to 1.019 in a matter of 20 minutes. In the future, float the bag for the 20 min., then begin to add a cup of your water to the bag, every 15 minutes.Do this 4 times, then remove them from the bag,and add to your tank.Never put LFS water in your tank.

What is the best and fastest way to raise it...i have been haveing this problem for a while...I even made a batch of about 10 galons with salt in it for top off....but it does not seem to have moved at all.
how can i raise it safley and quickly..I just noticed at least one is dead already =(
thanx

the way i raise is on top off use the desired salinity level. This will make it rise fast because to keep the norm SG you add only fresh water. Thus, by adding salt water, slowly the SG (specific gravity) will increase.
