Well i bought this really good rock at my lfs and noticed that there were some plants growing on it and it happens to be macro fauna (i think thats what its called) well it looks like the hermits like the rock, and have gathered there.
just wondering if anyone knows if hermits eats plants or anything, cant really tell if there eating it because the plants are really small.

Awwww. I remember having those Christmas trees on my rock when I got it many moons ago. Those things are so neat the way they pop down in the hole. I would rather have Christmas trees then hermits! Thinking of bringing my 3 hermits to the LFS so I can get some mexican turbo snails.

Few will bother them. I assume our talking about Encrusting Porites aka Christmas tree rocks?? Some shrimp will occassionally go for the tree worms but its rare.
They are so short polyps that the best way is to put it next to a clowns host, the clowns will keep everyone away from thier host and keep the portes safe at same time.

I dont have an anemone, but do have clowns and they host some feather dusters, the lfs sold me the christmas tree rock but not knowing there were christmas trees on it, it looks like a regular old rock with some feather dusters and so they called it the duster rock, paid 20$ for it, got a great deal, cuz my friend came over and told me they were christmas tree worms, bet there are a few feathers on it as well

ok here are some pics so you know what im talking about
this is the whole rock, u can c why the lfs called it a feather duster rock

Here are a few pics of some of the christmas tree worms, very small but they will grow!!

i counted about 20 of them scattered all over the place, though i only seem to have black, blue and red ones. enjoy!

heres a pic of a rather large feather duster in the rock, do you think when it grows it will ditch the rock?
