i read that you have an eclipse 3 on your 29 gallon and you said that if you have a similar hood then you can keep etc, etc. i have an eclipse hood for my 20 gallon but i dont know which one it is. i have one marine glo 18" 15 watt and one aqua glo 18" 15 watt. can i keep any corals like mushrooms, polyps. and a question for everyone. how come the box for a marine glo it says you can keep corals but people in here say you cant?

from what I know is that we should be able to keep very simple and hardy corals like polyps and mushrooms. I am trying to get an answer on the keeping of zoo's. That about all we can keep. I have a buddy who is way more expeirence than me and he told me that I need at least a 10,000k lamp to keep corals and ofcourse an actinic lamp so that it can enhance the colours of the corals. You can buy a 50/50 actinic with 6500k in one bulb. In my tank, I have an 18 watt 420 actinic and an 18 watt 10k ocean sun made by Zoo Med.

thanks chamic for replying. but im still a little confused about this whole lighitng business. right now i have my eclipse lights and a 50/50 50% actinic 50% natural daylight 6000k by slimeline made my coralife. would that be better for the corals? i have not purchased the corals yet.
