I heard if you remove all your CC you'll lose some important bacteria that was once in the CC, is this true?

I responded in the other post, but here ya go...
Q: You removed all your CC with what tool?
A: Just a plastic cup. Threw it straight into a garbage can.
Q: I heard if you remove all your CC you'll lose some important bacteria that was once in the CC, is this true?
A: It is true that you'll lose the beneficial bacteria that is growing there, but if you replace it with LS, then there will be beneficial bacteria already living in the live sand. You can still seed your sand with some of your crushed coral wrapped in some nylon pantyhose, or something similar, and leave it laying on your sand bed.
Q: Did you seed your LS?
A: No
Q: i heard over time aragonite turns into "cement"??
A: Not that I have ever heard. My sand still feels like I am on the beach. Maybe the finer grain sand does that, but I have some larger sized sand.
Hope this helps!
