MR SALTY,
I have a question for you, I was looking at your website (very nice by the way) and I say some sort of Tang looking fish. It looks to be a very deep purple or blue and it has some really cool orange markings on it near its rear fins. What type of fish is this, and what type of fish is it classified under.
Thanks for all your help!

NO,they are NOT compatible with blues,That is why I said they are in the same family...The achillies I had was less than 50bucks...

Mr.Salty,
I'm confused. You stated to blutang that the achillies and powder blus were not compatible, which I agree, but yet you have them in the same tank as seen on your web site. What's up? Also on your web site I noticed you had many tangs,(Achillies, yellow, powder blue, hippo) in the same 130 g tank. How do you get this to work . I posted that I had 3 tangs ( hippo, yellow, sohal) in a 125g and were told by everyone that I was pushing it although they seem to get along just fine. Before I move one of my tangs which is what the consnsus opinion was, would like to here how you are so successful with your tank with all of these tangs??

I have a Purple tang, a powder blue and a regal blue all in my reef tank together and they do wonderfully. I think it is really the luck of the draw as to the fish temperment. I also belive that the quality and care of my favorite Bay Area LFS had a lot to do with it.

A purple, powder blue, and regal(hippo) will work because they are from diferent families...But only in a LARGE(100+gal)tank...My mix of tangs somewhat worked for awhile. But believe me,I had my share of problems. And ultimatly the tank had a bacterial outbreak that killed alot of fish. These deaths were totally my falt for cramming that many fish into even a large tank..The stress of the fighting, and territorial disputes eventually won out over all my good intentions.Unfortunatly this is a lesson that many fishkeepers must learn the hard way...One of these days I need to upgrade my website, and archive all those old pics. And show what is in the tank now...Plus lighting upgrades, filteration improvements, and new MONSTER skimmer...

Thats a really cool tank man......I swear I love those Achilles Tangs they are so cool looking. I may just have to invest in a larger aquarium and see what happens! :)
