How are you and your horses. I am in the middle of a tank redo.
I have my pair in my 20 gal right now, taking out all the rock from my tank and building foam rock walls for my tank.
Wish me luck

Hi Teresa.
Sounds like a fun project. Before and after pictures, please. :)
All is well with my horses - healthy and happy, at least for now!

Hey there...I'd like to see that too...sounds neat....
My horses are great...still battling cyano though...getting an order today with a teddy bear conch that hopefully will eat it...

I've been out a while too. Finals week is next week (and this is the FINAL finals week for the degree), been dealing with the fact that Dad passed away a couple weeks ago and the memorial is this Saturday, plus usual life stuff. As for the horses, all three are fine, although I have been slacking on water changes. They just got a 28% change last night, and I'll do another 14% change in a couple days to get the water quality back, but I can tell from the hair algae that my nitrates must've been getting up there.
Maybe sometime this summer I want to do a foam/rock tower for my horse tank, kinda like you're doing Teresa. Are you using live rock in the foam, or tufa rock and live rock to seed it after its in the tank?

Nova, I am using the rock from the tank. Some is figi, and some is dry spagetti rock that has been in the tank a yr. I know taking it out and letting it get dry is bad, but it will come back. I also have some nice coral rocks that will sit in the center I think.

Sorry to hear it, Cleve. I know, sometimes when you get hit like that you just don't feel up to posting. Been there, believe me.
Thanks Meowzer, BTW. :) It's a little overwhelming with all the stuff....but you get thru it, y'know? Glad my finals are pretty much all written papers....these I can do in my sleep.

Everything going alright here. Had my first small brood of 3rd generation, but they were all "premies" and didn't make it past 72 hours. Hopefully next time will be better. The rest of the adults/juvies/fry are doing fine.

Hi all. My 38g has been simmering since last September. I've been trying to decide which sea horse to house. At first I was 100% sure I was getting ponies, but after canceling two orders I decided to let the tank simmer some more and do some more research. I purchased a couple of books. On of these had the information on the Vibrio parasite, the main parasite that is responsible for our sea horses dieing. Finding this information, especially how to cure this parasite is a huge relief.
After this finding I decided to house sea horses instead of ponies. I ordered a m/f pair of Kelloggi. When they arrived I was very discouraged by the size of the horses. These little babies were so tiny they could be almost be mistaken for ponies. They were both barely 2 inches. The over night trip was too much for them. Going that long with out food, IMO was the main reason they did not survive. Even though I had them in QT, both of them died within two days of their arrival. I talked to the source I purchased them from. Fortunately I talked with some one would had experience with sea horses. They are sending me another pair, which will be here Tuesday. I hope that I have more success with this pair.

Sorry to hear about that. Why would they send them out sooo young.
Are they from a private breeder??

Thank you. I haven't the foggiest, except to make money
I do not know where this online store gets its sea horses. All I know is that they are tank bred.
I am praying that some one with a heart/brain picks out the new pair they are sending me.
