I have made some rock (about 50 to 75 pounds) with portland cement and ostershell. What I have read recommends curing (for PH) in fresh water for 6 to 8 weeks. I have cured this rock in fresh water for 12 weeks. PH stayed right for 4 weeks and I had green algae growing on the rock. I have put the rock in a 45 gal. with about 10# of sand. I have a powerhead and a heater in the tank and one small LR. I then put two damsels in the tank to cycle the tank. The rock has been in the tank for about 2 weeks and my PH has spiked high, I think about 8.4 or 8.6. Any suggestions on how I can get the ph down. My goal is to stablize the rock so I can place it in my 120 and not have to constantly dose the tank with anything.....
