I live in Lake Charles and Hurricane Rita passed right over us....we stayed through the whole thing.....a pretty incredbile thing to live through without evacuating. We stayed for up to 5 days afterwards in one-hundred degree heat until we decided to go to a hotel. We were smart enough to buy some bait arators (sp?) that operate on batteries to help give some flow and oxygen to our tank. It worked and I was so determined to not lose my tank, that I packed it up (it's a 42 gallon) and we took 2 cars and I managed to bring it to the motel. Thank God we were on the first floor. It was 3 hours away in Shreveport no less. We then packed it back up and just got back here a couple day ago. I'm proud to say that my tank survived completely and everything lived. I just went to our LFS store, who lost all their inventory by the way, and there were tons of people there trying to buy LR and Saltwater to start over. I probably have the only tank that survived in the city. The only irony in it all will be that when the LFS starts to restock next week, I'll be able to get all the first picks since no one else can add anything to their tanks yet. What a month but we were very fortunate. I have two rolls of film we've yet to develop with very similar pictures but we got very lucky in it all.
