hey everyone.
this isnt a thread saying i cant get my calcium levels down. but i have a few questions..
if you keep you calcium at around 500. i know its high as 400 being a target.. but if this is good at all, would it make your corals grown any faster?
now i know zooanthoids arent dependent on calcium but i want them to spread, i have a few nice frags in there..
a tank covered in monticaps would be cool so high calcium with sps/lps would boost thier growth as well?
thanks again

Calcium at 500ppm can be considered quite good - as long as your alkalinity, magnessium, pH, etc are okay. What are your readings for those parameters???

My calcium levels are well over 550. I really notice coraline growth on my LR. My corals are doing fantastic. Faster growth with high calcium? With coraline I would say yes but for corals I can't speak from experience. Corals only deplete calcium levels. Hence the reason why we do water changes or add buffers.
In my experience proper positioning, lighting, and feeding will speed up coral growth.
