High nitrates

What exactly is high?

20 or less is fine for a reef system and it could be higher for a FOWLR.

The best way to lower nitrates is by doing some water changes. assuming the new water is good ro/di water

less then 20 is ok as stated above I have resently started useing AZ-NO2 it is a enzyme product designed to remove nitrates I was very sceptical but I have to say mine have gone from a range of 5 to 10 to 0 after only 8 days.

If you have a nitrate issue it is really important to be honest about WHY you have it....not enough water changes? Over stocked? Over feeding? Important to question this or you will constantly battle the problem, IMO. Better to address the problem and prevent it from happening again, rather than constantly treating it.
