High PH

Our PH just went up to 8.8 today and we were wondering why this happened and how can we lower it?

What do yo have in the tank?
Have you been dosing anything recently?
What does your pH drop to at night?

We have 7 damsels, 1 feather duster, live rock, 2 peppermint shrimp, 2 skunk shrimp, 5 turbo snails, 1 starfish, a couple nudie branches that we don't see to often and 1 big sabea anemonie. The 8.8 is what showed up tonight. other wise it tested perfected. And could this be why we have been getting ick on our fish so often within the past 2 weeks. Never had a problem before this. Everything was going perfect till now. I have forgotten yes we have been treating the tank with ick attack.

Ich attack may be throwing your pH off. Hopefully someone else will have experience with this stuff and give a yes or no one way or another. Be aware these things are not often invert and reef safe even though they claim to be. You may get some more info over in the disease forum since people are often medicating over there, good luck!
