I can,t find my bubble tip anemone. I just had a tang die ? Nitrates are way high . Going to start water changes. Now by not finding the anemone can I still correct the problem? Or take the aquarium apart

What is your ammonia? Ammonia, and to a lesser extend nitrite, are FAR greater concerns in the short term than nitrates are.
If your nitrates are high, do water changes, regularly but not drastically. Drastic changes for no really critical reason tend to cause more problems than slow and steady.
How high are your nitrates, and have you had the reading verified?

I used a salfert test kit, they were over 100. Did a 30 gal water change , down to 50. going to do another water change in 2 days, after I make more water.tank is a 120. Ammonia is 0.

what about nitrites? You don't want to change any more water until you are certain that ammonia and nitrite are 0. Very few things in the aquarium will suffer greatly from a nitrate count of 50 ppm.
