High water temperture

I can't get the water temp below 80 degrees. I have a 90 gal mega-flow tank,
wet-dry filter, return pump, 2 #3 powerheads and an Aquapro Urchin skimmer. I tried unplugging the heater, but the temp did not change. I pretty sure it's the return pump. Is it posiable the return pump is running this hot,and is this ok?

80 degrees is okay. My tank is at 81 degrees right now. You could run a fan over your tank. And I don't know anything about return pumps

Yes, some return pumps generate heat. What's your room temperature?

80 degrees is ok. I normally run mine at 79. What's more important with temperature is that it not change rapidly. (Within limits, of course.)
My tank was pushing 84 when it got warm here this week. I took the top off and ran the AC to bring it back down slowly over the course of two days. No ill effects on the critters from the temp rise - but I have to be careful w/ the top off 'cuz I have jumpers.
Pump can definitely add heat. I don't have to heat my water change bucket 'cuz the pump does it for me.
During the summer months you may find that fans or a chiller are in order.

My room temp is 72 degrees. I had to break the tank down at one time, and before I did that the temp was 77-78 degrees.
Thanks for your replies
