I noticed in my agresive fish tank the fish seem to be hidding, an look like they are breathing hard, SO NOT NORMAL!!! I did a water change yesterday 5 gal on my 55 gal as I do every Saterday. Just did my tests all all were perfect as usuall except for my High range pH, its 7.8.
We live in a very small town with one LFS an I cant get there to tomarrow when they open.... any suggestions or thoughts as to why this is???

Small amount of baking soda works the same as buffer and will get your ph up quickly....Do a very small amount at a time though, then retest, it won't take much in a 55. Need the ph 8.0 at a minimum, 8.3 is what I try to keep it at.
Do you have enough water flow in the tank?
