Hippo tang and Sea Weed

I have a hippo tang, and i know what over feeding can do to a tank. But i was wondering if having seanweed on the feeding clip at almost all times would be the same as over feeding?? would this break down to ammonia? because my hippo always eats every bit

I'd feed him about a 2 by 2 or 3 by 3 inch piece once a day. What else is in the tank? Do you feed him any frozen foods? TJ

only 2 damsels, i feed him some live brine, frozen brine, and frozen krill and clam also

I have tangs and i have seweed on the clip at all times without any problems.
