hippo tang ich

my hippo tang has ich, so bad that I fear he will be dead in a day or so, could someone give me a good way to help him as fast as I can, like a fresh water dip, or a good med, to use? Im doing hypo, but just got it down to 1.009 to night and if I don't see any change, I want to do something else. please HELP!

well tonight is the 25th and I just got it down to 1.009 tonight, I have been dropping the salt for the past two days, he was covered so bad tonight he looked white, but he’s still eating very good. I am using a refractor meter to measure the salinity. I first notice the fish having problems about two weeks back and fed garlic soaked food till I could get the (H) tank set up, it worked for about 3 days then the ich got bad.

thanks guys today he is doing better, he is still covered from head to fin, but he’s out swimming allover the tank and eating good, his eyes have some ich on them but its not bad, and his fins show no sine of fraying. I think he will make it.

The only thing I would ask is how is he swimming? if he is darting around in sudden movements that is a sign he has a parasite. But still, as Terry and jwtrojan44 said, keep patient and hope for the best, you are doing everything you can!

Thanks guys, he has pulled out of it and is doing fine. Now it's just a waiting game, to try and get through the next 3 to 4 weeks.

Ryan,
I remember that you had some problems before with Ich and I am just wanting to make sure that we are on the same page here.......
What size tank is the Ich Magnet (Hippo and Powder Blue Tangs are kind of sensitive to Ich) in? We just need to make sure that if you get your Hippo back to good health (which I hope that you do) that he will stay that way. These guys need lots of swimming room.

well I got a 72gl bow front about 8 months back and he went in it as so as it was good to go, but he got ich and now hes in my (H) tank thats 10gl, I hated to put him there but it was only for 30days. all the fish I get from that place has ich, so I got there on the same day they got there fish in and got the hippo befor they got him out of his bag, but that didn't help he still has ich.
