hippo tang with white spots

I am not sure what this is, but it has white specks...some are longer than they are accross.
He is behaving and eating normally.
These spots seem to be there one day and gone the next. He ahs been in my tank for 2 months, and is the only on thusly affected.
Any help with ID and/or treatment if necessary would be appreciated.

Well, I gave the fish a F/W dip for 1 min/45 sec. Most of the white things fell off. We'll see how the fish does. As for the moment, he appears unaffected.
the F/W dip was RO/DI acclimated to tank temp.
