Hippo with ich

I have a 180 gal community tank with a variety of fish. My hippo tang has ich so I suppose the rest of my fish are exposed to it as well but they have no signs. I have a QT but really cant get the fish out of my main without major disruption. I have been treating the entire tank with rid ich for about a week and the ich seems to be getting better but not really going away on this 1 fish (a dot here or there and scratching from time to time). I have taken the noodles out prior to treatment so the rid ich is not just dissipating. Is there anything I can do without freaking the entire tank out by trying to isolate this 1 guy? Any suggestions wuold be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Do you have corals? If not i would just hypo the tank, that would be your best bet, bring it down to 1.020 and leave it there for about 4 weeks, correct me if iam wrong but that should work.

That is incorrect. Hypo is when you lower the SG to 1.009. Ich can and will live at 1.020.

oops sorry, i do not know everything, it is just that when i lowered my salt gravity to 1.020 it killed the ich and my temp was at 80 to.

RAISE YOUR SG BACK ASAP bring it back to normal. although you dont have coral you stil have inverts in your LR. and if you hypo you whole tank chances are your LR will just become R.

There is no live rock either. Hypo would be fine in the main tank as long as the hypo is done properly.

shouldnt the HYPO timeline begin three weeks from the time the ICH has left the fish ? Not from the day the hypo began , correct?

correct, from the time where you no longer noticed any ich on the fish.
