It may be the nitrates causing this issue.
What are the other tank mates in the tank?
Constant water changes always help get rid of pop eye quickly (as well as good foods - but you have that already).

tank mates are 4 yellow tangs
1 sailfin
1 coral beauty
1 flame angel

How long have you had this fish? Try doing daily water changes to bring down the nitrates, and also feed the fish with meaty foods soaked in fresh garlic 3x a day. The garlic procedure is described in the info-topic in the FAQ Thread. Do this for a week to see if the problem resolves. Both garlic 3x a day and daily water changes.

Do 10 gallons daily and see if that improves the overall condition of the tank.
Feed the fish small portions of mysis shrimp (as well as other meaty foods) 3 times a day. Mix the nori in only one feeding. Just because you are feeding 3 times a day does not mean to overfeed the fish though. Just split the feedings so that the fish has more of a chance at getting more foods. You should also be using more different types of food than that also, though.
Is there any aggression in this tank, Jon?

no aggression whatsoever...well the yellows have a spat everyonce in a while.
I just mixed up some fresh food for them. fromula 1 and 2, mysis, sweetwater zooplankton, nori, zoe and garlic. In the fridge waiting to feed.
Thanks to you and beth for your help. I was freakin out, thought I was gonna lose my hippo

Nope - this should not be anything more than a minor issue.
Do the 4 yellow tangs ever mess around with the hippo or near the hippo?
All of those foods sound very good. With how nice your tank is and with how much you seem to know, I was awfully surprised when you made the comment about the mysis and nori because I then assumed that this was all you fed them - and then I said that that could not be possible.

I have not seen anything bothering the hippo at all.
I will do ten gallons daily for a few days and see what happens.
I feed a total of eight foods on different schedules.

thanks lion crazz and beth for your help. I have been treated and changing water as you guys suggested and the hippo's eye is back to normal. I will keep doing the changes and treatments for the rest of the week just in case. I just wanted to say thanks for your help and fast responses...
