Hitch hiker star fish help!

i picked up an orange zoos rock today and when i put it in the tank i saw a tiny starfish crawl off the rock. It was about 1/2 inch diameter and it was white. It had 5 skinny arms and it was white. It looked like a brittle star. Are these guys good to have in a reef tank? how fast do they grow.

sounds like a mini brittle i think there great to have they usually dont get very large mabie the size of a half dollar

Yeah, cute little stars. I find them every so often in my tank too. Like pods, they end up as tastey treats for the most part from what I've read
