Hitched in on a frog spawn

Just as I was about to place my new frogspawn in the tank I noticed something moving so flicked it off into a cup of water. What is this? It looks like a tick and is about the same size, too, but I don't imagine there is such a think as a saltwater tick, right?

No, doesn't look like he spider in that link, thank goodness. I won't throw it out - he's in a tub of water, waiting to be identified.

lol... Bless y'alls heart for thinking of me. I don't ID crabs though.... it's just darn near impossible to ID them at all let alone off the internet.
I always say remove any unknown crab until you get a certain ID, if you don't get one don't put it back it.
But it is indeed a crab.

I agree, when in doubt take it out.
There are some crabs that live symbiotic with corals -- but doesn't look ANYTHING like the acro crabs I have. I wouldn't chance anything with this one unless you are 100% certain of what it is... cuz if you put it in you may never be able to find him to get it out again.

K, he's getting the royal flush. Normally it really pains me to do that to any creature and I stupidly put them back in the tank to give them a chance at life, but this one doesn't even have any redeeming "cute" factor to it. Since Renee doesn't want it, it's history.
Aren't you flattered, Renee? Everytime we find something gross and disgusting in our tanks we think of you!
(Out of love and respect, of course)
