I just got back from the LFS today and this is what I picked up I also have an unknown hitchhiker on the back of the ric rock (that sounds kinda cool
) Sorry the pics are horrible my camera doesn't like to take good pictures. It is pretty much completely see through except for the ends of the tentacle like things they are a milky yellow color. It has a mouth like a shroom does. It definitely doesn't look like Aiptasia to me any ideas??
Thank you.

BTW those whitish spots you are seeing are the little ball like things at the end of the tentacles. Otherwise this thing is completely clear and almost hard to see.

Good call...Found some pics and other than the coloration it looks identical. But I also read that they come in different color variations. Do you know if these things travel or if they are stuck in one place? The reason I ask is because he is on the backside of a rock and he won't really get much light at all if he stays there.

I have lots in my tank and was told it was Carribean mushroom. i could never find anything on these guys. But I type in that pseudo word and there it was! It says it is not safe with fish though.
This Pseudocorynactis from Fiji is beautiful but not safe with fishes and adjacent invertebrates. It is a voracious eater that has powerful nematocysts in the ball-like tentacle tips.

Thats from the same site I checked out too.... I don't know how this little guy could really mess with anything.... hes about the size of a pencil eraser and tucked into a little crevice of the rock he came on. Do yours move around at all? Like I said mine is on the underside of a rock with rics on it so I couldn't see him living too long with that little of light unless he moved (or maybe they like low light)

BTW I am amazed at how nice the Featherduster pic turned out compared to the others. Its the same camera and the pics were taken a couple minutes apart

I have a lot of them in them where there is hardy any light. When I look at the tank at night they really blossom. I just wonder if they sting the fish if they touch them. I have seen them grab hold of a live brine shrimp.

I don't know anything about them really. This is the first one I have seen. I know most anemones will grab ahold of anything that touches its tentacles. Thats why my Hatian is no more. (he grabbed ahold of a coral and tried to eat it, I wasn't too happy about that and now hes gone)

Pseudocorynactis (Caribbean corallimorph)
They can move but like most corallimorph they rarely do.
More info on it is in the, Pocket Expert Marine Invertebrates book...

I don’t believe that they are but like most shrooms if it got big enough it may eat small fish.

I think I have those too...they are kinda like white balls attached by a clear stem...extremely small, and are growing from a crack or crevice in my rock. I just noticed them yesterday. Didn't see them until after I ghost fed my tank to make sure it was cycled.
